Read more about the Artist’s Inspiration behind “Golden Age of Travel”:
“The Golden Age of Travel speaks of the time of discovery – when European explorers such as Sir Stamford Raffles landed on the tropical island of Singapore. The Raffles Hotel’s famous Long Bar with its well-loved ceiling fans can be found glimmering in this artwork. Cut from traditional South East Asian fabric- Indian Sari and Chinese silk brocade, the fabric stripes cascade down from the upper right corner. The striped pattern is reminiscent of tigers and other creatures that roamed wild within the thick tropical jungles of Singapore.”
