“Chin Mee Chin Confectionery (真美珍茶室) is a historic shop. Housed in a powder blue shophouse, it exudes an old world charm typical of Chinese coffee shops with its marble table tops, ceiling fans, tiled walls and mosaic floors. The popular items on the menu which have remained unchanged over the years are kaya (coconut jam) toast, soft boiled eggs and coffee – a traditional Chinese breakfast. The preparation of the food has stayed the same too – coffee is heated by a charcoal fire while the confectioneries are baked in-house.
