“At the rest and relaxation area near Chinatown complex, you will surely find large groups of men absorbed in their game of Checkers or Chinese Chess. Surrounding them is an equally large group of onlookers watching their every move. Despite the man-to-man battle of minds and wits, the atmosphere is filled with friendly banter and laughter. Majority of the players are elderly men and playing chess as a daily leisure activity helps to stave off boredom and keep their minds active.
The photograph used in this artwork was taken near Kreta Ayer Market, Chinatown, Singapore.”
